Issue 3 - The Dionne with Matilda Murray

There’s an ease to Matilda Murray’s style that feels both intentional and effortless, the kind you can’t quite fake. For this edition of Women We Luv, we asked Matilda to style our signature aviator, The Dionne, bringing her own take to a silhouette that’s equal parts classic and cool. Known for her love of clean lines, elevated basics and thoughtful layering, Matilda shows how the right accessories, especially a great pair of sunglasses, can transform even the simplest outfit into something considered.

What elements or pieces do you find yourself consistently returning to when building an outfit?

"I always start with a really simple base. I’m big on classic, re-wearable pieces that I know I feel good in, then I build from there with styling.

Glasses are my go-to. Whether they’re on my face or just tucked into a tee or button-down, they instantly make a look feel more considered. I love a sunglass moment, but also a clear or blue light lens, even just as an accessory.

I also love adding something a bit undone, like tying a long sleeve or jacket around my shoulders or waist. It gives the outfit a bit of shape and interest without trying too hard.

Then I’ll usually finish with an unexpected shoe. Lately I’ve been into a pop of red. Once the base is right, you can play. Accessories are what really elevate a simple outfit."

In your view, what makes the Luv Lou aviators a timeless accessory?

"An aviator is just one of those shapes that never really dates. It suits everyone and always feels effortless. There’s something about it that instantly gives cool girl energy, like you’re on the go, slightly off-duty.

I love that Luv Lou does them in so many different tones and lenses, so you can match them back to your look. It’s such an easy way to elevate an outfit, and the oversized shape is always a bonus when you want to hide a little."

How would you encourage someone to develop a personal style that feels authentic to them?

"I think it always comes back to how you feel. The best outfits are the ones you feel confident in.

Think about a time you felt really good in what you were wearing and break down what made it work. Then just keep repeating that formula.

Once you know what you like, everything gets easier. You shop better, you style faster, and you stop second guessing. For me, I know I’ll always gravitate towards clean, neutral pieces over anything too busy, and leaning into that has made my style feel a lot more like me."
